Meeting Schedule and Information

The Board meets for caucus every other Tuesday morning to discuss agency business. Caucus discussions include review of items for consideration at upcoming Board meetings, agency divisional or project updates from staff, as well as reports from industry affiliates or subject experts from across the country. Caucus is also a time when Board members receive executive assistant reports and Board member to Board member updates/reports. 

While open to the public for observation, caucus meetings are held with the Board as the intended audience to get updates from staff and others and have opportunity to discuss the agenda items with those presenting and among themselves. The general public does not have opportunity to make comment or testify. 

Board meetings are held on either the first or second Wednesday of the month. The public is invited to attend any Board meeting in person or view the meeting online. These meetings are where the Board considers and acts on rulemaking and policy as well as considers written public testimony on related agenda items. The Board also considers and acts on negotiated compacts and memorandums of agreements with tribal governments. 

Public comment is limited to written comments only. The agenda will be posted on the Friday before the Board meeting, giving the public time to respond and Board members time to review before the meeting occurs. 

Board meetings are open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend. The meetings are also broadcast on TVW. While we encourage and welcome participation, during Board meetings, members may engage with staff on related agenda items but do not engage in Q&A with the general public.

The Board encourages and values written comments from the community. Please submit comments via email to LCBBoardMeeting@lcb.wa.gov.

To ensure your input is considered before action is taken at a Board meeting, we encourage you to submit comments at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. Comments received in that timeframe will be distributed to and reviewed by all Board members ahead of the meeting.

If your comment relates to an item on a specific Board meeting agenda, please include the agenda item in the subject line and the body of your message. Comments related to agenda items will be attached to the meeting’s official minutes once finalized and will also be posted on our website.

If you have questions or comments on topics not related to a specific Board meeting agenda item, they will be forwarded to the appropriate staff member and responded to as needed. These comments, questions, and responses will not be included in the meeting minutes.

The Board meets monthly with the agency’s Executive Management Team for updates and in-depth briefings on operations. These meetings are an opportunity for the Board to engage directly with agency leadership and each division of the LCB. While open to the public for observation, EMT meetings are held with the Board as the intended audience to get updates from staff. The general public does not have opportunity to make comment or testify. 

While the meeting is in progress all attendees are expected to remain in their seat and refrain from side conversation and meeting interruption.

Closed captioning (live captions) is available for all of our Microsoft Teams-based meetings. To enable this feature, once in the meeting click on the ellipses (three dots) in the upper right hand area of the meeting screen. From the dropdown menu that presents, click on the tab that reads "Turn on live captions" with the "cc" logo next to it. After a few moments you will see real-time transcription cascading at the bottom of your screen.
