Research Program
Established in 2023, the Research Program at the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board serves as a non-partisan, transparent resource dedicated to conducting research and using data to help improve evidence-based decisions concerning the products, policy, and regulation of alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, and vapor.
Research priorities are based on several possible criteria, including legislative mandates, leadership requests, subjective matter expertise of research staff, relevance and value to internal and external partners, alignment with agency policy and strategy, and availability of staff resources. The Research Program works to maintain flexibility and adapt to changing priorities across time.
