Extension for Permit Expirations and Renewals
Many of our annual liquor permits are set to expire on Monday, June 30. As staff and customers adjust to our new online Portal, we will be extending the expiration date for the following permits to Thursday, July 31:
- Class 1, 2, 6 Permits: Ethyl alcohol (not used for consumption)
- Class 4 Permit: Serving employees or invited guests at no charge
- Class 5 Permit: Importing alcohol for manufacturing
- Class 11 Permit: Bed and Breakfast
- Class 15 Permit: Alcohol tasting for college and university programs
- Class 16 Permit: Day Spa
- Class 21 Permit: Short Term Rental Operator
If you are an annual permit holder and have not renewed your permit, you will need to do so before July 31.
Please note: Most Portal services require you to create an account. Start by clicking the "Log In" button on the top right of the Portal page.
Only Banquet Permits and Household Moves can be made without setting up an LCB Portal account and logging in.
Set up a Portal account: First, click the Log In button on the upper right of the Portal screen. You also need a Secure Access Washington (SAW) account. Many businesses and licensees already have a SAW account. If you have problems with SAW, please contact WaTech at 360.586.1000 or Support@watech.wa.gov.
License Processing Delays - Liquor and Cannabis: Issuing licenses has been slower than is typical as we use the new Portal to process applications. Due to the delays, we recommend submitting your application at least 90 days before your planned opening date.
Due to high call volume, we have a backlog of voice messages for our IT support team. We are working hard to help customers and are committed to responding as quickly as possible.
More information, user guides, and videos about the Portal are found on the Portal Resources page.
This page has updates on the status of the LCB's Portal. For Portal instructions and information, check our Portal Resources webpage.
Unplanned System Issues
We are aware of and working to fix a few issues related to accessing services on the new Portal.
Please use Chrome as your browser. If you still have problems, please contact our Service Desk at 360-664-1776. We appreciate your patience.
Special Occasions: While applying you will not be able to return to an in-progress application if you:
- Get an error message
- Switch to a different tab while completing your application
- Use your browser's back button, or
- Leave the application before completing it. Your work won’t be saved, and you will need to start over.
If you pay for your application and then see a loading screen or a spinning wheel, it may not mean your application failed. If this happens, please call Customer Service at 360-664-1600 to find out if your payment went through before starting over.
