Some Liquor Control Board services unavailable September 7

State liquor stores will be open regular hours

Due to state budget reductions, the Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) headquarters at 3000 Pacific Ave. S.E. in Olympia will be closed on September 7 and employees will be on temporary layoff status. Regular service will resume on September 8 at 8 a.m.

Affected services
WSLCB employees who process liquor license applications, job applications, payments, beer and wine tax reports, special liquor orders, individual importation permits, accommodation sales, contracts, public records requests and media requests are among those on temporary layoff status September 7. These services will resume September 8.

State liquor stores open
State liquor stores will be open their regular hours on September 7. Please visit lcb.wa.gov for a list of stores and hours.

Enforcement officers on duty
WSLCB enforcement officers will carry out their normal enforcement duties on September 7.

The regional enforcement offices in Tacoma, Mount Vernon, Seattle, Tukwila, and Spokane will be closed, and the Enforcement Customer Service line at (360) 664-9878 will not be staffed.

The Washington State Liquor Control Board’s mission is to contribute to the safety and financial stability of our communities by ensuring the responsible sale, and preventing the misuse of, alcohol and tobacco. The WSLCB returned over $360 million in Fiscal Year 2010 to fund essential state and local services.
