Special Occasion Licenses

Special Occasion Licenses Specific for Fan Zones and Civic Campus Events

Nonprofit organizations holding a Special Occasion License can participate in:

  • Events in the Host City and/or Fan Zones from Jun. 1 to Jul. 31, 2026.
  • Events being hosted on civic campuses of cities with a population of 220,000 or more through Dec. 31, 2027.

These events do not count towards a nonprofit’s limit of 12 special occasion events per year. These Fan Zone and Civic Campus Special Occasion Licenses cost $185 per day.

Like LCB’s traditional Special Occasion Licenses, the Fan Zone and Civic Campus Special Occasion Licenses allows a bona fide nonprofit organization to sell liquor at a specific time, date, and place. During these Fan Zone and Civic Campus events, Special Occasion License holders can participate with other licensees.

Nonprofits will apply and pay for this license on the LCB’s Portal.

To apply for the Fan Zone and/or Civic Campus, the applicant must:

  • A site map of the jurisdiction where your organization will be located during the Fan Zone and/or Civic Campus events.
  • Be included in the joint operating plan submitted by the local jurisdiction, campus operator, and/or primary licensee.

More information, instructions, and resources on the registration and application processes are under development and will be posted on the Expanded Alcohol Services web page when available.

These alcohol service allowances were authorized by the state Legislature in SSHB House Bill 1515.
