Emergency suspension is for multiple sales to minors

OLYMPIA, WA –The Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) today issued an emergency suspension issued an emergency suspension of the Cigarette, Tobacco Product, Vapor Product endorsements for Pacific North West Tobacco Shop in Wenatchee WA..

After receiving community complaint(s), an investigation found that despite being under a stipulated agreement for a past violations of Sales to a minor of Vapor or Tobacco products the licensed location sold vapor products to an underage LCB investigative aid (IA).

The aggravated penalty agreed to in the Stipulated Settlement Agreement is revocation with no possibility of reinstatement for a period of five (5) years. The suspension becomes effective Wednesday November 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. for a period of 180 days during which the LCB will seek a permanent revocation.

  7. 06/22/2020: Sale of Tobacco and/or a Vapor Product to a person under age 21
     

The LCB educates licensees to reach compliance and enforces Washington’s liquor, cannabis and tobacco laws and regulations. The LCB is mandated to ensure that licensees in Washington state follow state laws and regulations. When licensees fail to comply with state law, the Board, under state authority can take action including the issuance of suspensions to ensure public health and safety.

Emergency suspensions represent an extraordinary exercise of the state’s power and the LCB is mandated to ensure that an emergency suspension is reasonable, justifiable and legal.
