Suspension due to multiple, repeated, violations of cannabis laws
OLYMPIA, WA: Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) officers today carried out an emergency suspension of the cannabis retail license for MJ’s Pot Shop in Pullman, WA. The suspension, issued by the LCB Board follows repeated violations of traceability, tax reporting and payment, selling cannabis to underage persons, and multiple violations for operating while under suspension.
Licensee Information: The Big Rock Candy Mountain, dba MJ’s Pot Shop Mary Jane Smith and David Merle Harlow, owners 1335 SE Bishop BLVD in Pullman, Washington

Based on the seriousness of the violations. the uncooperative conduct of the licensee, and the likelihood the licensee will commit these violations in the future, the Board found the continued operation of the licensed business to be a direct and immediate threat to the public health and safety. The Board therefore approved an emergency suspension of the license.
The license will remain suspended for a period of 180 days during which the LCB will seek permanent revocation.
The LCB is mandated to ensure that licensees in Washington state follow state laws and regulations. When licensees fail to comply with state law, the Board, under state authority can take action including the issuance of suspensions to ensure public health and safety.
Emergency suspensions represent an extraordinary exercise of the state’s power. The LCB is mandated to ensure that an emergency suspension is reasonable, justifiable and legal. This is the only emergency suspension of any liquor or cannabis licensee thus far in 2024.
