On the Water

Just like with driving a vehicle or motorcycle, it is illegal to operate a water vessel (boat, jet ski, etc.) while under the influence of alcohol.

A person is considered to be under the influence if, within two hours of operating a vessel:

  • The results of a breath or blood test show the amount of alcohol in the operator’s blood to be .08 or higher, or
  • The person is under the influence of, or affected by alcohol; or
  • The person is under the combined influence of, or affected by alcohol, cannabis, or any drug.
